Plus, an island creates a great space when needing to add in appliances that may not fit elsewhere in the kitchen.

[post_content] => With online shopping and home delivery options becoming increasingly more popular, the unfortunate occurrence of package theft is also becoming more common. Here are a few simple ways to help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of porch piracy.

Hold your mail with the post office - this assures that no packages will be delivered to your door and you can pick up your packages directly at the post office.

Amazon and UPS delivery options - both services offer package lockers all across town to offer a more convenient and safe way to retrieve your packages.

Home security cameras - this may help deter thieves from stealing and will help police identify the suspect if they do steal.

Send packages to your work - easy solution to have your packages delivered securely.

Ask a neighbor for a favor - reciprocate the favor when they need it, keep an eye out for each others packages.

You can also leave lights on, park a car in the driveway, and avoid posting photos on social media that show you are away from home.

In October at the Annual Installation and Award Ceremony for the Boulder Area Realtor Association, our very own Rich Dana, owner and managing broker of Live West Realty, was honored with the award for Managing Broker of the Year! Our team is so proud of Rich and we had a great turnout of Live West Brokers in attendance to help celebrate Rich and his awesome accomplishments!

Danya Rivlin, Live West Broker, was one out of many Live West Brokers to write a remarkable nomination for Rich, and her message is one that truly defines why Rich deserves his award.

A pillar in the Boulder real estate community, and the heart and soul of our brokerage, Rich Dana exemplifies the very best of what a managing broker can be. He works tirelessly for his agents, generously sharing guidance, wisdom and humor - ready to educate, encourage and uplift us with all the tools we need to bring professionalism and excellence out to the field. His ethical standards are high, for himself and all his agents - and through his diligent care, Rich and Live West raise the bar for how a local brokerage should conduct itself.

He himself is a wonderful example of a "go-giver" (a book he encourages all his agents to read and re-read) and on any given day may be caught in the act of offering a random act of kindness to stranger in need on the street, or unhurriedly sitting down with a new agent to go over how to do a CMA, or spending hours researching market data to provide us incredible useable information, or volunteering his time with professional organizations to improve conditions for all brokers in the Front Range.

He is a treasure in our community and we are so lucky that he continues to be our Managing Broker with incredible vision and deep roots here at Live West.
